OUR SERVICE TERMS

Dinner party payment arrangements:

1. Following your consultation, we will ask for a 50% security deposit to reserve your spot on our calendar.

2. The remaining balance is due on the day of your event, before the chef leaves your venue.

Cancellation Policy :

Applies to cancellation and/or re-scheduling for any and all reasons.

Notices of cancellations must be received in writing via email or text. All deposits are non-refundable and by default are forfeited upon cancellation for any reason, however if an event with another client with a total event cost of equal or larger is successfully scheduled to replace your canceled event, your deposit can be retained and kept on file for your use on a future event. For this reason, as much notice as possible will hopefully increase the chances of your deposit being retained for use on a future event. Cancellations received 7 days or less in advance of the event deposits are automatically forfeited in full, as it is almost impossible to replace your event with this little notice, and many other inquiries have been sent away due to a full calendar night booked. Should a replacement event not be booked, your deposit will be forfeited to reimburse The Simmering Chef for loss of business.

Meal prep menu planning and scheduling:

The Simmering Chef Personal Chef Service will work together with you to create your menu. Menus are confirmed at least 7 days prior to the scheduled cooking day. On your day of service we will shop for and prepare the agreed upon menu. All menu items will be cooled, packaged, and stored in your refrigerator. Upon completion, we will supply detailed instructions for enjoying your menu items. The Clients Kitchen:

We take great pride in our work and promises to respect you, your home and your kitchen equipment.  Prior to arriving we ask that you make sure your kitchen area is clean and ready for your chef on their scheduled cook-date. If chefs arrive at an unsuitable work space, they will document the area with a photo(s) and a cleaning fee of $50 will be added to the invoice for that service date. If the kitchen does not meet basic health code standards (i.e. no running water, no electricity, etc...) we will prepare and store what we can and client will still be charged the full day rate.
